P.C. slip 137 where used

Postby michaeldeery » Wed Apr 11, 2018 4:21 pm

Air cover posted from Finland 3 Jan 1944, via Lisbon (11 Jan 44). To NY

Bermuda sealing censor label, and a P.C. 137 slip / Form No 229.

Also on front postal station in Finland? Tarkastetto, Granskat pmk along with

So where was the form applied? In Bermuda (not listed) or Trinidad & Tobago (some similarities?

Slip points out that missing stamp on front of cover is not the responsibility of the British P.O.

Good evening,

Dear michaeldeery,
Here you can find some notes about the Bermuda censorship and PAA flight of the quoted cover:

Label P.C. 90 Form 167 from Bermuda - Type Cl9b (1)
Censorship 2275 - known from 19 September 1940 to 18 February 1944 (1)
Handstamp I.C./ known with censorship 2275 label (1)

The LISBON datestamp 11 Jan 1944 means the following PAA flight to South:
Flight/Trip 13026 - Lisbon 16/1 --> San Juan 23/1 --> Bermuda 24/1 (2) (3)
We can find in Pan Americam Airways Company Trip Summary #13026, introduced and compiled by John Wilson, that the departure from Lisbon was on 19/1 to South because there was a "delay due to engine trouble"... --> San Juan 23/1 --> Bermuda 24/1. (4)
