Australia - Adelaide, South Australia 1941 censor marking?

Postby GreenA » Tue Aug 18, 2020 12:59 am

Hello all

Cover dated 29 July 1941 with Little H4-3a boxed "A3" on front, and a violet handstamp on reverse that I am unfamiliar with. May not be a censor mark at all?

Violet E.E.C. in oval.

It's dimensions are 19mm wide by 12mm high.

Hi Alan.

It took me about a decade of dealing in censored covers, but eventually I became completely convinced that the oval marking on the back of your cover was applied by the DuPont company mail room.

Thanks Dann

That does make sense.
