Here are the errors that I have found to date. Please report any that you have found.

Wrong Word


Kenya, WWII, EXAMINATION for EXAMINER (CCSC Ty. XI tape)

Wrong Spelling


Iraq, WWII, CENCORSHIP (CCSG Ty. 5B )


Trinidad, WWII, CENOSR (CCSG Ty. CH5V)


Austria, Post-WWII, Umlaut inside O rather than above (Krueger Ty. BT 8B tape)

Printing Errors


Corfu, WWII, apparently a true Double Print


Grenada, WWII, more of a “stutter print” where the paper slipped slightly during printing? (CCSG TY. L3, var.)

Gum Errors


India, WWII, Tape issued without gum (CCSG Ty. 8A1 var.)


US, WWII, Tape issued without gum (Broderick & Mayo Ty. L4.4 var.)


Madagascar WWII, Tape gummed on printed side.

Here is a Trinidad CL10 resealing label.

Unlike the normal label, it has been miscut and the "Form 167" designation appears at the upper left corner of the label instead of the usual lower left corner.
